Some of the most gorgeous and fit celebrities hate on their bodies – no matter where you live or what you look like, it is time to start thinking more highly of your body image. It should become our mission as grandmothers, mothers, daughters, sisters, cousins, aunts etc. to set the new mindset of loving what we look like no matter our shape or size.

“I don’t like my thighs, my midsection..” said Scarlett Johansson. Yes I didn’t stutter, the gorgeous Johansson who has been named one of the sexiest women alive has poor body image.  Woman like Johansson poses something that us everyday ladies do not have, which is influence over a massive audience. It needs to become our duty as everyday ladies as well as celebrities to spread the love for all types of bodies.

It has become socially unacceptable to admit to loving your body. Why is this? Why isn’t okay to admitting to loving your physique, thinking your sexy, and being confident? People now associate this attitude with being cocky, conceited, arrogant, and vain which is the mindset we need to change.

Massive companies depend on women thinking less of themselves and believing they need certain products to make them look more beautiful. Makeup, fake nails, fake eyelashes, self-tanner, plastic surgery, and waist trainers are just some of the products that make woman feel more beautiful. Unfortunately over the years we have created a definition for looking beautiful by associating this word with super models. There is no correct definition for beautiful and that is what we need to instill in all women again because it has become unhealthy to put yourself down everyday and compare yourself to people who have been defined as beautiful.

The next time you catch yourself thinking you’re ugly, fat, or shouldn’t eat something unhealthy because you think you’re being piggy – ask yourself, “Would I say this to my mother? My sister? My best friend?” If you wouldn’t call your daughter a pig for eating a piece of cake, don’t say it to yourself.

Make it your duty to compliment other women everyday. Even if you’re getting a coffee, or picking up your dry cleaning, compliment their haircut or their earrings. Compliments go a long way and can make someone’s entire day be better, help others smile and feel more confident.

Social media has become one of the main reasons women’s confidence about their bodies has gone down. The benefit of social media is that you decide whom you follow and look at, stop following only size 0 celebrities and models and start filling your feed with images that boost your confidence. Create a feed that includes women of all shapes, sizes, and race so your feed reflects the real world and removes you from the mind-se that there’s only one size that is acceptable.

The time to start loving your body is now, so get rid of your negative thoughts and attitude about how you look and start replacing those thoughts with positive reinforcement and compliments about yourself. Putting yourself or others down is a sign of insecurity and will just bring you and the people around you down. Talk positively about others to energize and lift them up while giving yourself a boost as well!
