Never buy the nicest home in a run-down neighborhood. Such neighborhoods will negatively affect your resale value, especially if the school system is compromised. It is much smarter to buy the worst-looking property in a nice neighborhood. You can remodel your home, but you can’t remodel an entire neighborhood on your own.
